Oleg Sychov (Bass)

Oleg Sychov was born in Kharkov. Trained at the Kharkov Institute of the Arts (solo singing class of Professor Taisia Madysheva). In 2000 he graduated from the faculty of solo singing at the National Academy of Music of Ukraine (class of Professor Viktor Kurin) where in 2008 he also completed his postgraduate studies (class of Professor Alexander Vostryakov). From 2000 to 2002 he was a soloist with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. From 2002 to 2008 he was a soloist with the National Opera of Ukraine. In 2010 he made his Mariinsky Theatre debut as the Apostle Paul in Nikolai Karetnikov’s opera The Mystery of the Apostle Paul. In the 2010–2011 season he joined the Mariinsky Opera Company.

Has toured to Germany, France, the Netherlands, Japan, Poland and Belgium. He has appeared at music festivals in Oberammergau and Sankt Blasien in Germany. First performer of Alexander Raskatov’s suite The Alphabet of Death in Russia.
