Inaki Urlezaga (Libretto)

He began his dance lessons at an early age in his city, La Plata, and readily enters the Art Institute of the Colón theatre in Buenos Aires.
For your average ten (10) wins a scholarship of improvement in The School of American Ballet, where he remains a full year.
His professional career began in 1991 as Principal Dancer the Argentinean Theatre of La Plata, and in July 1993, entered International competition for the Colon Theatre in Buenos Aires, assuming the roles of Principal Dancer.
In March 1995, he is invited by Mr. Anthony Dowel to joined the
Royal Ballet in London and as Principal Dancer of the company
occurs during 1995-2005 in all annual seasons the Covent Garden Royal Opera House
In October 2005 he is invited by Mr Ted Brandsen and joins as Principal Guest dancer at the Dutch National Ballet Dancer (Netherlands). His official debut was on April 4, 2006 with Swan Lake. Since then, he comes in every season the company performed in the Het Muziektheater Opera House.

Iñaki Urlezaga is elected by the BMG to record in Philadelphia, USA, the video «The Day that you love me” /»El Día que me quieras» with Michael Bolton and Raul Di Blasio.
In 2003 as the same time in his career as Principal dancer he began his career as choreographer creating ballets that have received excellent praise of specialized press, and have been performed at international festivals “La Traviata” Music by G. Verdi; «Romeo y Julieta» Music Prokofiev; “Sylvia“ Music by L. Delibes, “Floralis” Music by S. Prokofiev; «Chopin Tales» Music by F. Chopin, “Nutcracker”.Music by Tchaicowsky, «God pay it»; «Swan Lake» Giselle; «Don Quixote»
His choreographic productions have been presented with great success at the Colon Theater in Buenos Aires, Solís Theater in Montevideo, Vail International Dance Festival, the Montreal Star Gala, Egypt Cairo Opera House, Madrid Theater, Verdi Theater in Italy, including other sstages.
During 2013, the Presidency of Argentina called to Iñaki Urlezaga to found the first National Ballet, and he was his artistic director until December 2017.
During 2018 Iñaki Urlezaga made a worldwide farewell tour as dancer; and in this year 2019 Mr Urlezaga was called by Russia, San Petersburg, where he will prepare and present his choreography for La Dame de Pique, in special celebration of the 225th birthday anniversary of Pushkin (working here with Mr. Ezio Frigerio and Mrs. Franca Squarciapino) for the premiere in the Alexandrinski Theatre, and then in the Mariinsky Theatre (december 2019) and Bolshoi Theater (may 2020)

Medal and three special mentions at the International Ballet competition of Moscow (1993), first prize in the arts and in The Sciences of Coca-Cola (1994),

Best dancer of the year, awarded by the critics of Mexico (1999)

Critic’s Circle Dance Awards 2000 – Best Male Dancer of the Year 2000 (2001), Foundation Award Konex (2002),

María Ruanova ́s Award to the best Argentinean dancer (2003)
