Vasily Ladyuk (Baritone)

Graduated from the Sveshnikov Moscow Choral College as a choral conductor (Prof. Lyashko`s class) in 2000 and from the Academy of Choral Art in Moscow as a choral conductor and as a singer in 2001. He also completed his post-graduate studies at the Academy with Professor Vdovin in 2004.

Since 2003, he has worked in the Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow, performing the following parts: Shchelkalov in Mussorgsky`s Boris Godunov, Onegin in Tchaikovsky`s Eugene Onegin, Robert in Tchaikovsky`s Iolanta, Silvio in Leoncavallo`s I Pagliacci, Papageno in Mozart`s Die Zauberflote, Zurga Bizet`s Les Pecheurs de Perles, Germont in Verdi`s La Traviata, Belcore in Donizetti`s L`Elisir d`Amore, the baritone parts in Orff`s Carmina Burana and in the productions "Bravissimo!", "Maria Callas", "Opera@Jazz", and "Rossini".

Vasily Ladyuk tours extensively. He has participated in CD recordings (Russian Folk songs arranged by Lyadov, Old Russian Legends and Gogol`s Testament by Dmitriyev, Ten Russian Folk Songs by Shostakovich, and others). He also took part in the performance of the cantata On Reading David`s Psalm by Taneyev with the Russian National Orchestra directed by Mikhail Pletnev. In 2004, he performed Rachmaninov`s cantata Spring with the National Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Vladimir Spivakov at Rheingau Musikfestival and Colmar Musikfestival.
In 2005, Vasily Ladyuk became a laureate of the Francisco Vinias International Competition for Singers (First Prize and Audience Choice Award; Barcelona, Spain), a laureate of the Operalia International Competition for Opera Singers founded by Placido Domingo (First Prize; Madrid, Spain) and Shizuoka International Opera Competition (First Prize; Shizuoka, Japan).
