Angela Gheorghiu’s first appearance in
St. Petersburg is to take place at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. Ms. Gheorghiu’s magnificent voice and dazzling stage presence have established her as a unique international opera superstar. Born in Romania, Angela is at home on all the great opera and recital stages of the world, and has been hailed as one of opera’s greatest singing actresses in such operas as Verdi’s La Traviata, and Puccini’s Tosca. Angela Gheorghiu made her international debut in 1992 at Covent Garden with La Boheme. In the same year she made her debut in the Metropolitan Opera New York and in the Staatsoper Vienna. Angela Gheorghiu has collaborated with the most prestigious opera directors and conductors of our time and has sung with the most important opera singers.
