"The Stone Coast"
The one-act ballet-requiem "The Stone Coast", which is a kind of dedication to those who died in World War II, is presented by the winner of the "Golden Mask" award Vladimir Varnava. The inspiration for the creation of the work was the monument "Shoes on the Danube embankment", which was opened in Budapest on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the Victory. This is an artless and very poignant monument depicting worn-out shoes, elegant women's shoes and children's shoes made of cast iron left on the embankment. The most common objects tell about the terrible: before the execution, Hungarian Jews sentenced to death were forced to take off their shoes, which were then resold with German practicality.
"The Firebird"
The one-act ballet "The Firebird" is presented by a graduate of the European ballet school, also a laureate of the highest theatrical prize "Golden Mask", developing the principles of neoclassical ballet in his work, Douglas Lee. Lee created his original version of the Firebird at the Leonid Yakobson Ballet Theater, where the traditional motives of a Russian fairy tale were embodied in a whimsical choreographic suite. Complex plastic images, high performing skills, innovative scenography and fantastic costumes of Eva Adler are designed to captivate the viewer into the mysterious world of wonderful fiction.
