Three works by Stravinsky composed in the 1920s are being combined in one programme. Renard is a "merry play with singing and music". Mavra is an opera. The Fairy's Kiss is a ballet. They relate to different periods of the composer's work, the Russian and the neoclassical, though this is a conditional division: in all of his opuses Stravinsky remains himself. The evening is being staged by choreographer Maxim Petrov, recipient of the 2021 Golden Mask award. Working together with him are the designers Alyona Pikalova and Uldus Bakhtiozina and lighting designer Konstantin Binkin.

Renard, Histoire burlesque chantée et jouée (The Fox: burlesque tale sung and played) is a one-act chamber opera-ballet by Igor Stravinsky, written in 1916. The Russian text by the composer was based on Russian folk tales from the collection by Alexander Afanasyev.

Mavra is a one-act comic opera composed by Igor Stravinsky, and one of the earliest works of Stravinsky's neo-classical period. The libretto, by Boris Kochno, is based on Alexander Pushkin's The Little House in Kolomna. Mavra is about 25 minutes long, and features two arias, a duet, and a quartet performed by its cast of four characters. The opera has been characterised as both an homage to Russian writers, and a satire of bourgeois manners and the Romeo and Juliet subgenre of romance. Philip Truman has also described the music as satirising 19th-century comic opera. The dedication on the score is to the memory of Pushkin, Glinka and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The Fairy's Kiss, ballet in four scenes based on music by Tchaikovsky (1928), libretto by the author based on Andersen's fairy tales. First performance - November 27, 1928, Paris, Grand Opera, conducted by the author
