The International Music Festival "St. Petersburg Palaces" was founded by Konstantin Orbelian, director and chief conductor of State academic chamber orchestra of Russia, and artistic director, well-known St.Petersburg violinist Maria Safarianz. This holiday of art has become important culture event not just in Russian‘s culture life, but abroad too. The Unique concert programms & famous all over the World musicians.

Festival " Palaces of St.-Petersburg ", is based in 1993 by the head and the main conductor of the State academic chamber orchestra of Russia
Constantine Orbelian.
Since 1997 International musical festival " Palaces of St.-Petersburg " is headed by the artistic director, known Petersburg violinist
Maria Safariants.
Idea of festival - restoration of musical and cultural-historical traditions of Russia in brilliant interiors of palaces, and also premieres of new compositions at participation of outstanding domestic and foreign masters of the arts.
Here already during 13 years during "white nights" for visitors of this unique holiday doors of palaces of the historical center of St.-Petersburg and its suburbs open: Hermitage theatre, Mariinsky, Mihaylovsky, Yusupovsky, Sheremetjevsky, Marble, Menjshikovsky, Ekaterininsky, Pavlovsk, Peterhof, Gatchinsky palaces...
The Festival‘s idea is in recommencement of Russian historical and musical traditions in magnificent interiors of palaces as well as first performances of new compositions with participation of prominent Russian and foreign artists.
Doors of beautiful palaces (Mariinsky, Marble, Yussupov, Mikhailovsky, Sheremetev, Menshikov, Gathchina, Hermitage Theater etc.) have been opened for visitors for more than 10 years. World known musicians, such as soloists of Mariinsky theater, Philharmonia, Capella, performs in this famous Russian imperial and high aristocratic residences during White Nights…
Thank to enormous success of the first festivals,
Constantine Orbelian and
Maria Safariants could have turned the Festival to be annual event. Moreover, the festival would overcome its limits, including different originals projects: "Russian New Year‘s Eve in Russian Museum", "Autumn in Tsarskoye selo", "Music of fashion".

One of the most interesting accents of the present Festival is outstanding Polish singer Eva Podles. She is possessed of unique coloratura contralto and is famous as special performer of baroque music and music of Rossini. Eva Podles will perform beautiful arias from Handel operas.
There will be unique performance of Verdi’s Requiem by Italian soloists from leading Italian theatres: Chiara Taigi fron La Scala (soprano), Anna Maria Chiuri (mezzo-soprano), Luka Canonici (tenore). The part of bass in this performance will sing Barseg Tumanjan, conductor is famous interpreter of this work Marco Gvidarini.
For the first time there will be the best musicians of saxophone school – Greek saxophone quartet of Theodor Kerkezos in the Festival program.
Young American pianist Stiven Biuz, “rising star” among young generation of pianists, prize-winner of prestigious International competition Vendome Prize (Lisbon).
Chamber orchestra from Verona “Virtuosi of Italia” presents two programs: “Music of Italian composers – Vivaldi, Corelli, Albinoni” and unique project “Music of Italian cinematograph” where film music of Enio Morrikone, Nino Rota will be accompany film fragments on the screen. Musicians of Verona orchestra play collection instruments.
The first time there will be authentic ensemble “Baroque de la Nice” (France) in the program of Festival.
As usual outstanding Russia musicians will be participants the Festival: Alexander Knjasev, one of he best cellist will appear with chamber program; Elena Obraztsova will sing arias from classical operetta of J.Strauss, Kalman, Legar in the beautiful Rose Pavilion in Pavlovsk.
The anniversary Festival Ball will take place in magnificent Catherine Palace in Tsarskoe Selo in the culmination of White Nights – 30 June.
Every year the Festival presents a new concert hall – a restoration palace hall. This year there will be festival concerts in the reconstruction Palace of chancellor Bezborodko (Pochtamtsky Dvorets) and in the reconstruction Estate “Dylitsy” (architect B.Rastrelli).
